Questions:

Q: What inspired you or led you to your current career?

A: I am a Mortgage Lender. For the past 15 years, I’ve been very excited about and interested in real estate, both as an investor and in the industry itself. I worked as a Realtor for a year and since then I have had careers in marketing and strategic consulting, doing some market research, and a stay-at-home mom.  But, when I came back (from stay at home mom) and was looking at the rest of my working life, what I really wanted to do and was really excited about was real estate. Mortgage lending is a perfect blend of strategy and finance in the industry that I love.

Q: What is your favorite restaurant in Lafayette, and what do you love there?

A: A tie between Teocalli and Community. I love them both. People rave about the brussel sprouts at Community.  If I’m going to go outside the area, it will be 24 Carrot Bistro in Erie. At Teocalli, I love their De Birria, and they have excellent tacos. In Louisville, I love to go to Lulu’s BBQ because they have the back area where kids can play.

Q: How long have you lived or worked in Louisville?

A: We moved to this area 5 years ago, originally living in Louisville near Harper Lake.  We’ve rented since then and have lived in Trails at Coal Creek for the past 2 years.

Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met here in Louisville?

A: Mike Smart lives in Trails at Coal Creek and I met him through the neighborhood. I recommended him for HOA board and he’s now the President. He is a very interesting guy, he’s done so many things.  He’s won Emmy’s, flies drones professionally, and is a professional photographer.

Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be? And why?

A: It’s a tie between an African safari or the Galapagos. I love animals. The Galapagos is becoming increasingly more chartered, but its unchartered territory is very raw and has flora and fauna that you can’t see anywhere in the world. I want to see it before it’s no longer that way. A safari because it is so foreign from anything I know… to be out there with wild animals would be amazing.

Q: What is your favorite movie OR what is the first movie you remember seeing in a theater?

A: I do not remember the first movie I saw in the theater, but my favorite is The Thomas Crown Affair. Also, the one I love that is very similar in style, The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, it’s really good and epic.

Q: What advice would you give a crowd of people?

A: Happiness is a blend of your expectations and experiences. So if you want more happiness, you can alter your expectations and/or change the way you experience life.

Q: What is something on your bucket list?

A: I am very spontaneous and do-it kind of person. So I don’t have a bucket list because if there’s something I wanted to do I just do it.  I’m pretty happy with everything I’m doing now.

Q: What is your favorite music/ 3 bands you would like to see (dead or alive)?

A: I listen to The Party (95.7) on the radio.  I love Imagine Dragons, Christina Perry, and Taylor Swift.

Q: What current / former local business makes you the most nostalgic about Lafayette or Louisville?

A: I love what is happening with downtown Lafayette, I think there are great shops and restaurants. I love it because Lafayette is really focused on having a healthy downtown and supporting its local business owners. For instance, Taco Wagon is really good and I want it to stick around.  By Chance and Pitter Patter are really great boutique shops.

Q: Choosing anyone alive and a non-relative with whom would you love to have lunch? Why and where would you have lunch?

A: I would probably want to talk to Warren Buffet. His basic philosophy is to invest in things you believe in, which he’s doing a much better job at than other people.

Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about Lafayette or Louisville?

A: My favorite thing in the area is that people show up! Street fairs, Monster Dash, Peach Festival, Oatmeal 5K… people show up… it is a community that people come together.

Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 or 10 years?

A: Still in Trails at Coal Creek. Thriving in my career, having clients wherever I go.  I want to keep showing up in my community, it’s important. In 5 years, Olivia, will be in elementary school and I will be part of that with her.

Q: (Even for friends or family), what is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?

A: I’m kind of open book.

Q: What 3 words or phrases come to mind when you think of the word HOME?

A: Comfort, Stability, and Love.

Q: If you had a full time staff member that was fully paid for, who would you choose? Chef, Housekeeper, Driver, Coach, Physical Fitness Trainer, or Nanny?

A: I need two roles in one person. I’d love someone to cook and clean. I used to cook a lot and enjoyed doing meals… and be more creative and looking up recipes. But, for some reason I lost the spark and have other things I’d rather be doing.

Q: If you were cast into a major motion picture and had your choice of anyone to be your co-star, who would you choose?

A: Probably, Olivia. We will do a Mommy and Me movie. She would be really fun!
