Max Novy

Meet Max Novy, a 2020 graduate of Centaurus High School.

 

Please tell us about your current plans after high school and what inspired you to choose this path? My current plan for next year is to attend Colorado Mesa University with a degree in fine arts (photography/videography), as well as ride downhill and freestyle snowboard for Mesa.

Please tell us a little bit about your family. I come from a family of 5, with 2 older brothers making my mom the only woman in the house. My brother Ben has been my brother sense birth, my other brother Dakota was adopted around 5 years ago, they are both 22 years old and have been friends since middle school.

Q: What are couple of your favorite restaurants in our community?

A: Bob’s Diner is my favorite place to have breakfast, and Lulu’s BBQ makes some amazing wings.

Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met here in our community?

A: The most interesting person I have ran into in the Louisville-Lafayette area is this old guy who walks up and down south boulder Road, waiving and saluting cars that drive by. I love getting to run into him and give him a solute back.

Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?

A: If I could travel anywhere in the world I would want to travel to the Czech Republic. My last name, Novy, originated from Czechoslovakia and it’s been a dream of mine to visit some day.

Q: What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows?

A: My favorite TV show currently is The Midnight Gospel. The show is a podcast with in animated series to go with it.

Q: What’s the best advice you ever received from a teacher? Who was the teacher?

A: I have no clue what the best advice is I have received from a single teacher. I have learned so much throughout my 4 years at Centaurus and have received advice by a lot of my teachers.

Q: What is your go to band / singer when you cant decide what to listen to?

A: My go-to artists when I don’t know what to listen to is Mac Miller.

Q: If you could choose anyone to have lunch with, who would you choose? Why? And where, locally, would you meet for this lunch?

A: I would want to have dinner with Nathan MacKinnon.

Q: What is your favorite thing about our community?

A: My favorite thing about our community is how nice everyone is. Random people you run into around here will be so pleasant and nice.

Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?

A: In 5-10 years I see myself graduated from college with a degree in Visual Arts traveling around the world as a professional photographer.

Q: What show are you binge-watching right now?

A: The show Community.

Q: Favorite month? favorite holiday? and best single day on the calendar?

A: My favorite holiday is Christmas. I love waking up and enjoying breakfast and opening presents with my family. As well as watching the movie Elf every year.

Q: Who inspires you to be better?

A: The people that inspire me to be better are all my friends and family, as well as myself.

Q: If you could go back over your entire school career, what is one thing you would do differently?

A: I would’ve taken photography classes each year.

Q: Who or what do you miss the most right now?

A: I miss running into all my friends in the hallways and in class.

Q: What’s the first thing you want to do when this quarantine is over?

A: The first thing I want to do is get together with my friend groups from school before I don’t have the chance again.
